Graham Carter
Graham Carter can often be found printmaking, sketching, or making a mess in his studio on the coast. Recently shortlisted for the Waterstone’s Children’s Book Prize for his very first author illustrated picture book Otto Blotter Bird Spotter Graham Carter is one of the most exciting creatives in the UK.
After studying at two of the most prestigious UK based art schools, Brighton University and London’s Central St.Martins College of Art, he launched a very successful career as a commercial Illustrator
His visually stunning work largely features nature, which he is hugely inspired by along with the secrets of the animal kingdom, however he is equally drawn to the man-made, clunky steam punk technology of yesteryear.
Graham has been at the forefront of the fine art print industry and uses the styles which he originally used in physical printmaking in his new digital guise, employing the use of traditional methods, such as screen printing and lino/wood cutting. He has made a successful career in commercial illustration, working with many established brands, including designing the imagery for the Children's BAFTA's, characters for Black Mirror and creating beautiful book covers which employ his specialist design skills.
Graham lives in Seaford with his wife and two sons and can be found on both Instagram and Twitter as Carterworks and Boxbird.
