From a brief career climbing the rigging of a real life pirate ship to teaching art in the Kalahari Desert, Jonny has now settled into a peaceful career as an award-winning author and illustrator in rural North Wales with his wife, daughters and a very excitable dog.

With a background in the computer games industry and his concept work featuring in Aardman's Oscar nominated animation The Pirates! In An Adventure With Scientists, Jonny has an unrivalled skill for creating unique characters. Using a combination of pencil sketches and transferring them into digital artworks or, ‘colouring in’,he skilfully creates the inhabitants of his wonderful imaginary worlds.

Winning the Waterstones Children’s book prize for Pirates Next Door his numerous best-selling picture books can be found worldwide. Jonny's work has adorned the covers of the prestigious children's editions of the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling, showcasing his broad commercial appeal.

There is now a hugely successful TV series based on Jonny’s book Gigantosaurus, featuring four loveable dino-kids, airing across the globe, with a video game and fantastic toy merchandise.
