Christopher Gibbs

Originally from High Wycombe, Christopher Gibbs graduated from Norwich School of Art, followed by a Master of Arts at the University of Brighton. He’s now based in Norfolk and lectures Illustration on the degree course at University of Northampton. Essentially Chris’s work is collage, which he creates digitally. He combines found imagery, elements of photography, digital painting and model making to create multi-layered pictures that are rich in texture with a sophisticated colour palette.

Chris is an award-winning Illustrator and his work has adorned contemporary, crime, fantasy and science fiction covers for the adult and young adult markets all over the world. He’s produced imagery for well know franchises including Agatha Christie, Sherlock Holmes and How to Train Your Dragon. He has also illustrated for magazine, design and advertising clients including Royal Mail packaging for Harry Potter Stamps.

Chris ‘collects’ inspiration from books, bins, skips, ephemera, salvage sites and eBay as well as far too many artists to mention. His overriding desire is to create something from nothing.
