Christopher Gibbs
Christopher Gibbs is an award-winning illustrator celebrated for his striking digital collages that blend found imagery, photography, painting, and model-making into richly layered, atmospheric artworks. His sophisticated use of texture and colour has made him a sought-after artist for contemporary, crime, fantasy, and science fiction book covers across the adult and young adult markets.
His illustrations have graced editions of Agatha Christie and Sherlock Holmes as well as much-loved franchises such as How to Train Your Dragon. Beyond publishing, Christopher’s clients include magazines, design studios, and advertising campaigns — notably his acclaimed Royal Mail packaging for the Harry Potter stamps.
Always driven by a desire to “create something from nothing,” Christopher collects inspiration from books, salvage sites, ephemera, and everyday finds, transforming fragments into bold, imaginative narratives. Now based in Norfolk, he combines his practice with lecturing in Illustration at the University of Northampton, continuing to inspire a new generation of image-makers.
