Dotty Sutton

Dotty is an award-winning illustrator and model maker with a First Class Honours degree in Illustration from Falmouth University. Her passion for fantastical beasts and imaginary worlds began in childhood, paving the way for a career filled with creativity and storytelling. Shortly after graduating, she was selected for the prestigious D&AD New Blood Academy, marking the start of her journey as a standout voice in illustration.

Inspired by everything from Greek mythology and nature documentaries to pirates and princesses, Dotty approaches each project with a deep love for research, bringing authenticity, humour, and heart to her work. Her exceptional skill in character development has made her a sought-after illustrator for children’s fiction, with credits including Alex Vs Axel  by Sam Copeland (a Waterstones Children’s Book of the Month) and The Notwitches by Gary Panton.

Dotty's success has led to a number of public events, where she’s had the opportunity to meet and inspire fans through book signings, live drawing demonstrations, and bespoke window display commissions.

Now expanding her creative horizons, Dotty is working on her first author-illustrated project, bringing her storytelling full circle. Alongside her illustration work, she is an accomplished model maker, blending paper craft, sculpting, and photography to bring her quirky and playful characters to life in three dimensions.
