Simon Bartram was commissioned to illustrate the cover of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein for Oxford Children’s Classics. He jumped at the chance to portray the famous monster, with a nod to Boris Karloff in his most famous role. Simon loves figurative painting and is more used to depicting his alter ego Bob, who’s a spaceman. Thanks to Molly Dallas for the job, good choice, can he do Dracula next?
