We are proud to present our new illustrator, Levi Pinfold. Some of you may be familiar with Levi’s first picture book, The Django, which has received outstanding reviews and won him The Booktrust Early Years Award in the Best Emerging Illustrator Category, 2010. Levi was also selected for a Booktrust Best New Illustrators Award in 2011.
A graduate of University College Falmouth, Levi quickly established himself as a talent in children’s illustration, working on Illusionology, The Django and Black Dog for Templar Publishing. His admiration of illustration greats Maurice Sendak, Alan Lee and Dave McKean, and his appreciation of Breugel, David Friedrich and the Romantics have long inspired his work. Levi works in a variety of mediums, most notably, watercolour and gouache. He also worked in tempera for Black Dog to create the ethereal backdrop to his touching story.
As well creating stunning artwork, Levi is fantastic storyteller and spends his spare time dreaming up new ideas and stories.
We’ve long admired Levi’s work and are delighted to have him on board the good ship, Arena.
