Santa Selfie, is written by the winner of the Roald Dahl Funny Prize, Peter Bently and illustrated by our talented newcomer Anna Chernyshova. This is Anna’s first picture book published in the UK and we’re delighted that Macmillan Children’s Books teamed her up with such a great writer. Her natural sense of humour has been brought to life by the hilarious text and the words and illustrations together should have children and parents laughing out loud.
The story is a tale of an overworked Santa who decides that he’s going on holiday for Christmas this year and he sets off on his travels, leaving the elves in charge of Christmas at the freezing North Pole.
But soon Santa’s secret was out, everyone on board knew who the famous celebrity was and they wanted have their photo taken with him.
So Santa left the cruise at the next stop but he was welcomed on arrival by the whole city who all wanted a photo.
The folks cried “It’s Santa!” and asked for a photo. All over the world he travelled trying to find peace, when it occurred to him that the one place where no-one wants a photo of him.
This would make an ideal stocking filler for small children and has all the excitement and charm of Christmas with gorgeous illustrations and even a frame to take your very own selfie with Santa.
