Matthew Land’s 12 days of Yule is inspired by the Scottish countryside he so loves, you can see the robin in a rowan tree for the first day of yule and in the background the distant misty mountains. His pipers and dancers are in traditional Scottish costume, showing their tartan with pride. Matthew is at home creating wonderful animals which populate his rural farm setting with ease and humour. He works in delicate watercolour underpinned by a strong drawing style. His work has both movement and grace, we love this series particularly showcasing our favourite time of year.
