This week we have been adding new highlight projects to Christopher Gibbs' online portfolio and unveil his new cover for Tor, Grief of Stones which publishes in the US next month.
An award-winning creative with a wealth of high-profile projects under his belt, Christopher prides himself on creating visually arresting crime, fantasy and science fiction covers for adult and teen titles world-wide, and our recent update showcases this skill at its very best.
With an overriding desire to create something from nothing, Christopher finds inspiration everywhere, from skips and salvage sites to old books and eBay. Using digital techniques to create collage artworks amalgamated from photos, illustrations, 3-D models and sketches he masterfully layers images to create atmospheric and evocative cover designs.
Haunting text intertwines with gothic visuals creating an atmosphere of mystery and menace in this series of most recent pieces including personal work as well as commissioned covers.
